The Town of Rangely is situated in western Rio Blanco County, in the valley of the White River, in northwestern Colorado, 13 airline miles east of the Utah border. Road access to Rangely is provided from the south (Grand Junction) by Highway 139, and from the east and west by Highway 64, which is Rangely’s Main Street. Economic activities are centered on energy resources such as the Rangely oil field, high-grade coal deposits, and extensive natural gas reservoirs. Rangely is on the far western side of the State of Colorado, roughly 300 miles west of Denver, and 250 miles east of Salt Lake City. The small town of Dinosaur sits 19 miles to the northwest on the junction of Hwy 64 & US 40. Within the Town Limits of Rangely (2003), there are 2592 acres of land. Much of this area lies in the narrow gently sloping southern plain of the river valley. The rest is along the tops of the Mesa’s to the south. To: Welcome to Rangely, CO, home of Rangely District Hospital. If you love the great outdoors, and want to get off “the beaten path”, this is the place to be. There are bike trails, hiking trails, ATV and dirt bike trails, rock climbing and rappelling, swimming in the Olympic sized pool at the recreation center, or boating, water skiing, swimming and fishing in Kenny Reservoir. Rangely is the home of Northwest Colorado Community College which offers a great education package to qualified residents and their families. There is a world class ski area just a day trip away. Rangely District Hospital has an opening in the Nursing Department for an RN. This is a full-time position, working 32 – 40 hours a week, with benefits after 90 days. The successful candidate must be a graduate if an approved school of nursing (diploma BSN). Other requirements include a minimum of 6 months recent experience preferred, but not required, currently licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Colorado, CPR certification and ACLS certification. Duties include, but not limited to, following and maintaining established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Writes initial nursing histories, assesses patient’s conditions, completes discharge planning and develops individual care plans for patients assigned to the unit. Administers medications and performs treatments as ordered by physician. Orders diagnostic/therapeutic services as ordered by physician. Assigns nursing care to nurses aides based on patient’s needs and staff’s capabilities and qualifications. Assists other staff members with patient care. Evaluates outcomes of patient care, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as necessary to ensure optimal patient care. Maintains patient documentation and assures the patients medical record is accurate and complete.
