February 2025

Hello everyone. We have had a busy last few months at Rangely District Hospital, so I’ll give you a recap of what’s going on. Surgeries are going well, the MRI suite is moving along rapidly, we hired a new provider, the hospital board has three seats open, and Senior Life Solutions has a new director.

The image shows a SIGNA Voyager MRI machine with a patient's bed ready, and people in the background.

The MRI suite will be completed at the end of March, the first part of April. The framing in the interior is complete; rough ins that include plumbing, electrical, and HVAC are also finished. We have some electrical conduits that need to be tied to the existing facility, which will put us on a backup generator for a few hours. We will be holding an open house for the suite on April 2nd from 5 pm to 6 pm. Light refreshments will be served. I’m excited about this new expansion as it will be another service line in place, so our patients don’t have to travel for appointments.

We have a new provider in town. His name is Tyler Savage, and he will be moving from Cedar City, Utah, to Rangely with his wife and five children. Tyler has a lot of healthcare experience. He was previously a paramedic for Iron County Ambulance, a school nurse, and a cardiac registered nurse for a few years. He graduated in May of 2024 as a nurse practitioner from Chamberlain University. We are excited to have him join our team in March 2025. We will have a full clinical team. Dr. Tyler Morwood as Chief of Staff, Dr. Tyson Torgerson, Kelsey Riggio PA, Vivian Dillon, and Tyler Savage. What a great team to provide the best healthcare in the area. We are here to help you with your healthcare needs. Call today and schedule an appointment to establish your care with one of them.

Our hospital board has three positions open this year. Currently on the board are Kieth Peterson as President, Diane Sizemore as Vice Chair, Brad Casto as Treasurer, Sam Tolley, and Wes White. I would like to thank Wes White and wish him and Lois the best as they moved closer to grandchildren. I had the pleasure of working side by side with one of the best in healthcare. Wes had a vast knowledge of how critical hospitals worked and was instrumental in mentoring our now CFO, Jimmy Dillon. It was a pleasure to see how organized and detail-oriented he was. Wes, we wish you the best and hope to see you around. The seats that are available are Sam Tolly, Keith Peterson, and Wes Whites. If you are interested in applying, please contact Jodi Dillon for an application. I’m grateful that we have a supportive board that keeps us on our toes and wants what’s best for our community.

We have a new director for Senior Life Solutions. Senior Life Solutions is an intensive outpatient group therapy program designed to meet the needs of older adults, typically ages 65 and older, who might be struggling with depression or anxiety related to aging. Malia Stringham joins our team from Vernal. She has a vast knowledge of nursing and is in school to advance her degree. Beth Wiley and her head up the program. Referrals can be made by anyone, so if you or you know someone who might benefit from it, call 970-675-8002. We are here to help. Our mission is your health!
