Medical Laboratory Technologist/Technician
Rangely District Hospital has a Medical Laboratory Technologist/Technician opening in the Lab. This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week.

JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for performing laboratory services and procedures to meet the needs of patients as ordered by the medical staff and performed according to the highest professional standards under supervision.
1. Follows departmental objectives, quality of work performances and evaluations to meet the highest professional standards. Maintains compliance with government regulatory agencies and policies.
2. Maintains department compliance with all established department policies/procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, compliance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
3. Maintains departmental facilities, equipment, supplies, and materials in a condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort, and safety of patients and staff.
4. Enhances and maintains professional growth and development in the field of laboratory services, medical technology, and infection control through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops, and membership in a professional organization.
5. Performs duties of a medical technician/technologist, including tests, procedures and phlebotomy.
6. Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and department.
7. Performs duties of High Complexity Testing Personnel per CLIA 88.
8. Performs and monitors quality control and proficiency surveys.
9. May help organize, implement, participate and manage the Rangely Health Fair.
10. Observes hospital compliance requirements and does not create an issue of fraud and abuse for the hospital
11. Complies with all established hospital policies and procedures.
12. Projects a positive image of the hospital through dealings with the public, patients, vendors, and fellow employees by acting professionally at all times.
13. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Science and a graduate of an approved program in Medical Technology per CLIA 88
1. Required licenses/certifications:
1. Must be certified, licensed, or registered medical technician/technologist.
2. Current CPR certification.
2. Must have vision/correction of 20/20 and be able to distinguish colors.
3. Computer experience is desirable.
4. Must cover call on a rotating schedule and respond to the hospital in 20 minutes, day or night.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Position Type: Full-time
Shift: Monday – Friday with a rotating call schedule
Hourly Wage Range: $18.16-25.62
